Dear Mr. Thompson:
Pursuant to 10 CFR Part 70, Commonwealth Edison Company hereby applies for a Special Nuclear Material (SNM) license.
Authorization is requested to receive, post.ess, inspect, store and package for return to the vendor unirradiated fuel assemblies made of uranium enriched in the U-235 isotopy.
All fuel assemblies are for use at Braidwood Station Unit 2 Regulatory Guide 3.15 Revision 1 " Standard Format and Content of Licensing Applications for Storage Only of Unirradiated Power Reactor Fuel and Associated Radioactive Material" was used to prepare this application.
All reference material used to t,upport the application is included as separate attachments (Attachments A-F) to assist in your review.
Reference (a) provided the Braidwood Station Unit 1 Special Nuclear Material License SNM-1938 for receipt and storage of fuel.
The material contained in the enclosed SNM application is similar to that which was submitted for Braidwood Station Unit 1.
Please address any questions regarding the application to this office.
