Jar.uary 27, 1986 MEMORANCUM FOR: Leonard I. Cobb, Chief, Safeguards and Materials Programs Branch, IE FROM:

W. D. Shafer, Chief, Emergency Preparedness and Radiological Protection Branch, Region III

SUBJECT:

FUEL FACILITY INSPECTOR OVALIFICATIONS In response to your January 24, 1986 memorandum, qualifications sumaries for personnel involved in the Region III fuel facility inspection program are attached.

Mr. George France, III presently perfoms the health and safety, operations, and nuclear criticality safety inspections of Region III fuel facility licensees. Since Mr. France's education and background are primarily in the chemistry and criticality fields, he has been accompanied approximately annually by a health physics inspector from the Facilities Radiation Protection Section. Since the health physics inspector on'y assists Mr. France, and since approximately six such individuals may be so assigned, we have not included qualification sumaries for them.

Please contact me or Robert Greger (FTS 388-5644) if we can assist you further.
