BEAVER VALLEY UNIT 2 - EFFECTS OF DIFFERENTIAL SETTLEMENT AGAINST BURIED PIPES (TAC #62885)

In Section 2.5.4 of SER Supplement No. 5 (SSER 5) we stated that the subject issue, identified as confinr.atory issue 2 in the SER, is considered closed as a license issue. However, our review of the subject matter is continuing.

In your October 23, 1986 and March 9,1987 letters, you provided some of the information needed. We have perfonned a preliminary review of these submittals and are generally satisfied with the method of analysis.

Additional infonnation is needed for us to complete our review, specifically:

(1) For the October 1986 submittal, provide the results of the analysis for pipes located between structures.

(2) For the March 1986 submittal, provide details of the analysis for pipes buried in embankment slopes.

Please provide your response within 60 days of receipt of this letter.

The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.
