As a result _of our conti.iuing efforts spent on the subject issue, we found that additional infortration is needed. The enclosed request for additional information (RAI) describes our inforwation need to coniplete this action.

The responses ycu submitted on July 8, 1988 and October 26, 1987 are being reviewed.

Request For Additional Information Differential Settlement of Buried Pipes (TAC 62885)

2. a) Provide the d/t (diameter / thickness) ratios for the 30-inch and the 24-inch diameter pipes, b) Provide the basis for the allowable limits.

c) Show that no local buckling of the pipe wall occurs at the locations of the critical section of the SWS pipes where the maximum calculated stress of 49548 psi was determined.
