ICP 2.I'U1 Page 2 Unit 1 5.01' PRECAUTIONS 5.1 The test may be performed on only one of the four protection
' channel'at a. time. The protection channels not under test must be capable-of performing the trip logic required.
.5.2' Ensure that no:NIS channels.are placed in' test while this~ test'is-being run.
5.3 If, during any part of the test, a reactor protection channel-alert is' actuated from another channel, the test must-be terminated and the channel in test returned to normal.
5.4 The~ test will require personnel'to be working in only one channel-at a time; therefore, two channel in test alarms should not'be.
actuated at the same time.
- 5.5 If the unit is shut down and depressurized and the reactor trip -
breakers ~are closed, a reactor trip will occur when first stage pressure bistables are placed in the trip mode.
6.0 DISCUSSION 6.1 If test-is interrupted for any reason other than quitting for.the day, the following sequence should be followed:
6.1.1 -
Stop test at a convenient point.
6.1.2 Ensure all channel test switches and shunts are returned to normal.
4 6.1.3 Ensure all bistable trip switches are returned to normal.
6.1.4 Close doors that bring in channel test alarm.
6.1.5 Check that all alarms and trips have cleared.
I 6.1.6 Inform operator of status of racks before leaving.
6.2 To continue. test performance after a short interruption, the following sequence should be followed:
6.2.1 Inform DSS and operator that testing is going to resume.
6.2.2 Ensure.that Tavg, AT, pressurizer press and pressurizer level defeat switches are in the proper position as required.
6.2.3 Continue with testing.
