Inspection Report No. 50-309/87-07
A routine radiological safety inspection at the Maine Yankee Atomic Power
Station was conducted by Mr. D. LeQuia of this office on April 6-10, 1987. The
purpose of this inspection was to evaluate implementation of the Radiation
Protection Program during the current outage. The findings of this inspection
.were discussed with Mr. E. Boulette, and other members of your staff, at the
completion of the inspection. The details of the inspection are enclosed with
this letter.
Within the scope of this inspection, it appears that certain of your
activities, relative to control of high radiation areas, were in apparent
violation of NRC requirements. Details are provided in enclosure Appendix A.
You are required to respond to this finding by following the instructions
included in Appendix A.
