RELOAD TOPICAL REPORT TR 020 (TAC 60339)
Re:
Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station By letter dated November 25, 1985, as supplemented by letter dated July 16, 1986, GPU Nuclear (the licensee) submitted Topical Report (TR) 020, Methods for the Analysis of Boiling Water Reactors lattice Physics. The licensee requested that the NRC staff review TR 020 for use in licensing of fuel reloads for Oyster Creek. The licensee stated its intent was to conduct its own analyses for (1) core related changes to the Technical Specifications during the upcoming operating Cycle 11 operation and (2) the full reload core safety analysis for the operating Cycle 12 core. One step in this program was the staff's approval for the use of TR 020 by the licensee in fuel load analyses for Oyster Creek.
Enclosed is the staff's Safety Evaluation (SE) on TR 020. Based on its review the staff concludes that the Collision Probability Module Code is acceptable for BWR fuel lattic calculations.
