P. Tam Gentlemen:
The Code of Federal Regulations, Part 10CFR50.62, requires Duquesne Light Company (DLC) to submit a schedule to meet the requirements for Anticipated Transients Without Scram (ATWS).
DLC committed in Reference (a) to submit a proposed schedule for Beaver Valley Power Station - Unit No. 2 (BVPS-2) after the issuance of the SER by the NRC on the Westinghouse generic design package for ATWS Mitigation System Actuation Circuitry ( AMSAC).
DLC committed in Reference (b) to provide to the NRC the AMSAC design infomation for BVPS-1 required by 10CFR50.62 (c) in February,1987.
DLC here-in commit.; to provide to the NRC the AMSAC design information and impl emen-A tation schedule for BVPS-2 required by 50.62(c) also by February,1987 to allow coordination of AMSAC designs between both BVPS plants.
As specified in the r ul e, the AMSAC design will be implemented into BVPS-2 no later than July 1989.
