Dear Mr. Jiang:

Thank you for your kind letter. I also believe that our discussions in Washington were most uscful.

I will await further advice from Thermal Hydraulic Test Facility (you on which parts of theTHTF), if any, China w to use in its nuclear safety research program. Upon receipt of this information, the U.S. Government approval process can then be completed.

I understand that four National Nuclear Safety Administration (NNSA) engineers plan to visit NRC this year to consult with our technical staff on the licensing review of the Qingshan reactor.

The NRC is pleased to cooperate through such consultations.

I look forward to seeing you again, perhaps in Beijing, as you suggest.
