Dear Mr. Fallin:

4 Recently the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) was sent a number of allegations regarding possible radioactive contamination at the Uniontown, Ohio, landfill (NRC AMS No. RIII-94-A-0026). Contained within one of those allegations was a wrongdoing allegation against certain Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) staff.

A member of your staff, OIG Irvestigator M. K. Fahey, has already reviewed the material and recommended that I officially refer the allegation to your office for whatever disposition you may deem appropriate. Accordingly, this letter is being sent to officially provide your office with the allegation. As you will note, there are no accompanying documents with this letter. The entire file has already been duplicated and is in the possession of OIG Investigator Fahey.
