McGuire Nut.iear Station Docket Nor. 50-369, 50-370 Technical 7pecification Changes for Spent Fuel Storage Pool Gentlemen:
By letter dated February 17, 1986, Duke Power proposed changes to the McGuire Nuclear Station Technical Specifications for Region 2 of the spent fuel storage pool. Subsequent review by the NRC staff as discussed by Mr. D.S. Hood of the NRC cnd Mr. J.B. Day of Duke have determined that an additional change is needed.
The original proposal would allow spent fuel to be stored in Region 2 of the spent fuel pool if qualified by analysis; this supplemental proposal specifies, in the Bases, that such an analysis would be performed using NRC approved methodology.
The affected page of the Bases is attached. As this is a clarification of the eriginal proposal, the Technical Justification and Safety Analysis and the Analy-tes of Significant Hazards Consideration as presented by the February 17, 1986 letter remain fully valid and need no supplement.
As this request supplements an earlier request, no fees are required.
