e Please find attached Technical Analyses addressing the Appendix R deviations as i
requested by Mr. B. J. Youngblood's letter of March 10, 1986. Following discussions between members of the NRC staff and Duke Power's staff, additional time was allowed for Duke to respond (reference Mr. H. B. Tucker's letter to Mr. H.
R. Denton dated July 22, 1986) to the deviations. The attached reports address fire exposure of steel supports penetrating fire barriers i.nd the need for fire protection of steel penetrating fire barrier walls at McGu.tre.
These analyses should provide sufficient information to close this issue; however.
