Subject: Inspection Report No. 50-219/88-25
This letter refers to the routine inspection conducted ty Mr. S. Chaudhary of
this office on August 25' through Septener 2,1988 at the Oyster Creek Nuclear
Generating Station in Forked River, New Jersey. Mr. Chaudhary discussed the
findings of the inspection with Mr. J. Bartan at the conclusion of the
inspection.
This inspection focused on modifications made to the pipe supports and piping
pursuant to NRC Bulletins 79-02 and 79-14 as described in the NRC Region !
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and examinations of cc.apleted works.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were obse.ved. '
In order to minimize tne impact on your outage activities, we are informing you
now that we plan to conduct an inspection starting November 14, 1988. The
purpose of the inspection will be to confirm that you have effectively achieved
your commitments to complete NRC Bulletins 79-02 and 79-14 activities prior to
restart from the 12R outage. The inspection will involve examination and tests
of installed hardware and review of analyses to confirm the criteria of the
bulletins are satisfied. We will discuss with you the type and extent of
support we will need prior to the inspection.

is appreciated.
