SHEAR 0N HARRIS - CP&L EXERCISE EXEMPTION REQUEST We have reviewed CP&L's request for an exemption for the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant from the provisions of 10 CFR 50, Appendix E,Section IV.F.I, regarding the conduct of a full participation emergency preparedness exercise within one year before operation above 5" of rated power.
Enclosed is a proposed supplement to the Shearon Harris SER in response to CP&L's request.
Based on the level of onsite and offsite emergency preparedness for Shearon Harris, and with the comitments described in the applicant's March 4 and May 2,1986 letters, we support the granting of the exercise exemption.
