Louisiana Power & Light Company Docket:
50-382 Waterford 3 Operating License: NPF-38 Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted on August 22, 1908, a deviation from a comitment made to the NRC was identified. The deviation consisted of failure to meet a comitment date.
In accordance with the "General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2 Appendix C (1988), the deviation is listed below:
4 Failure to Meet Comitment Date In LP&L Lett<rr W3P88-1234, dated July 1,1988, the licensee comitted to complete an evaluation of ventilation system root valve documentation including a schedule for corrective cction as necessary by August 1,1988.
In addition, the review of nonventilation ESF system drawings for root valve discrepancies was to be completed by the same date.
In deviation from the above, the above described actions were not completed by the comitted completion date.
In LP&L Letter W3P88-1262, dated August 9,1988, the licensee informed the NRC that the actions would not be completed until November 30, 1988.

Louisiana Power & Light Company is hereby requested to submit a written statement or explanation to this Office within 30 days of the date of the letter transmitting this Notice. This reply should include:
(1) the reason for the deviation if admitted, (2) the corrective steps that have been taken and the results achieved (3) the corrective steps that will be taken to avoid further deviations, and f4) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
Where good cause is shown, consideration will be given to extending the response time.
