PROPOSED REVISIONG OF LICENSING PROGRAM CODES AND j j INSPECTION PRIORITIES  ? .

' The License Tracking System (LTS) is used to track the status of licenses for approximately 4 i

J5900 NRC licensees authorized to conduct industrial, medical, academic and other nonreactor --  !

operations. The radiation safety programs wthorized by each license are assigned primary and

" secondary program codes. The primary program code indicates the licensee's principal use of -  ;

- material. The secondary code (s) may be used to indicate other significant uses. The program

+

codes are_ periodically updated to reflect recent changes in regulatory requirements.

. A prepcrd revision of the LTS program code descriptions and inspection priorities is attached -

for review.; The prnposed changes consist of the following: i

s. A new code to track gamma knife licenses.. +

- b. A new code to track waste treatment services more complicated than compacting and repackaging. This would cover special phyWcal and chemical treatments. ,

y- ceased, and to change the inspection priority from 3 to 2.= More frequent inspections are
