will include stakeholders involved in reactor, fuel cycle facility, and materials emergency response (e.g., Agreement States, CRCPD, EPA, FEMA). The peer review process will start with a one-day kick-off meeting. The meeting will be held at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15,1998, at NRC Headquarters in Rockville, Maryland (TWFN Rcom 10-A-1). The meeting will be open to the public and will consist of a presentation of the mission, activities, findings and recommendations of the self-assessment team with opportunity for questions and discussion.
The meeting will also articulate the purpose and expectations of the peer review, including the schedule for providing peer review comments and how they will be considered in the self assessment follow up and implementation decision-making process. Following the one-day kick-off meeting, the review activities of the peer review group members will be conducted separately on an individual basis back at their home office. The estimated level of effort will be approximately five days. The current expectation is to have the final peer review group documentation and comments completed by January 15,1999.
If you have any interest in participating in this peer review, please contact me at obl@nrc.aov or 301-415-2326 by November 24,1998. NRC will pay the travel and per diem expenses for Agreement State participation in the peer review.
