I l A welcome change in plans-instead of one week, the plan is to have a j one-day kick-off discussion on Tuesday, December 15,1998 at NRC Headquarters. The meeting will be open to the public and would consist of a presentation of the mission, activities, and findings and recommendations of the self-assessment team with opportunity for Q&A. The meeting would also
- articulate the purpose and expectations of the peer review group. Current i expectation is have the final per review group documentation and comments by mid January 1999, NLT Jan.15,1999.

Thanks very much for the information. I have sent it up for my management's approval; we'll see what they say. Despite the bad timing, I really would
, like to be involved in this. (Wishful thinking: is there any way the peer I review group could convene after the first of the year? That's the week l before Christmas, and I can't be the only one who noticed that.) But enough whining; l'm pleased to have been asked and hope it will be approved. I will l keep you posted.
