MISCELLANE0US AMENDMENTS / SEARCH REQUIREMENTS LA SALLE COUNTY NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 (TAC #65376/65377)

This is to acknowledge receipt of the Commonwealth Edison Company letter, dated January 14, 1988, which transmitted revisions to a proposed amendment (November 26,1986) to the La Salle County Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2, Physical Security Plan, in response to the Miscellaneous Amendments and Search Requirements.

The enclosure to this letter contains those matters which require plan changes in order to satisfy regulatory reouirements. Items not discussed in the enclosure (or previous letters on this subject) need no further response at this time and are considered acceptable.

It is requested that you provide your response to these coments within 30 days from receipt of this letter.

The reporting and/or record keeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than 10 respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.

. ENCLOSURE Docket Nos. 373/374 COMMENTS ON PHYSICAL SECURITY PLAN CHANGES (MISCELLANEOUS AMENDMENTS AND SEARCH REQUIREMENTS)

LA SALLE COUNTY NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 Provide a commitment that all keys, locks, combinations, and related access control devices used to control access to protected and vital areas shall be changed whenever there is evidence or suspicion that any of these devices may have been compromised. Reference 10 CFR 73.55 (d)(9).

Provide a commitment that the secondary power supply systems for both the alarm annunciator equipment and non-portable communications equipment shall be located within a vital area. Reference 10 CFR 73.55(e)(1) and Generic Letter 87-08 (Q&A #16).

Indicate what components of the secondary power supply system will be protected as vital. Reference 10 CFR 73.55(e)(1) and Generic Letter 87-08 (Q&A #18).
