REQUEST FOR RULEMAKING - 10 CFR PART 20 NOTIFICATIONS -
In consultation with representatives of NMSS and AE00, we have determined that ANM a revision in the requirements for prompt notification in 10 CFR Part 20 is needed. The background for this de' termination is provided in the enclosed documents, as follows:
Enclosure 1 notes current inconsistencies and suggests that the requirements be changed so that licensees are required to provide the :
prompt notifications only to the NRC Operations Center. )
Enclosure 2 provides AE00 agreement with the NRR suggestion. ;
Enclosure 3 provides NMSS agreement with the NRR suggestion.
Please transmit this request for a rule change to RES.
