6.1.1 These anchors are' designed to develop maximum stren:;th when installed as shown in steps 1, 2 & :3 of attachment 0 1.

a. The hole must be drilled to the proper depth and size.

~ho depth being the length of the anchor. (Steps 01)

b. The hole should then be cleaned to remove any remaining chips or poedered concrete. (Steps # 2)
c. The anchor iu then placed in the hole, the pluc inserted, small cad first, and driven to expand the anchor inside the co'ncreta. (Step i) 3) This is accomplished with the proper sized setting teol, shown at -the bottote of shest, Atrach=ent # 1. .

6.1.2 A' perfect instillation'vould be one that le:ves the anchnr flush. .to .not more than 1/8" belen the curface of the cencrete and has the plug driven where the small end is flu:h with the be.ek of the anchor, and the angle of the

. anchor is perpendiculcr to the surface of the cenerate.

. 6.2' PHILLI?S A:'C11CES (See Attachment 0 2) ,

6.2.1 These anchors are designed to develop mar.imum strength when installed as show in actsch=rst 02.

a. The anchor itself is used, in a machine designed ice installing these anchors, to drill the hole. The holu sheuld be ::et greater than 1/16" - 1/3" deeper than che length of the anchor. (Step 9 1)
b. Af ter the hole is drilled the anchor is removed and the hele ele,aned. Care should be taken to asrure th:

the c:re is removed from the center of the hole.

(See Step 9 2)

c. After the hole is cleaned the e.~.pansion plug is inserted.

6.2.2 A perfect insta11atier, would be one that leaves the anchor flush to not more thr.n 1/8" below the concrete surface and has the anchor driven where the back, larga end, of the plet is fluch with the back of the anchor, and the angic of the anchor is perpendicular to the surface of the concreto.

6.3.4 Af ter the bolt has been removed visually examino the anchor for obvious irrogularitius such as: overtite holes in the concreta or looto anchorn, striprad threads or anchurn with the wrong type expansion plug. If any of th :ee or uther obvious irregularities exist note it in the reserkt sectica of the check list and check the "Reriew Requirud" box.
