Allegation No. RV-84-A-0043 Improper Circumvention of QC Procedures This refers to the meeting and discussions you had on March 8,1984, and March 19, 1984, with our Resident Inspectors at Diablo Canyon. In these discussions you espressed concerns related to circumventing Q.C. procedures.
We have initiated an inquiry regarding these matters. Your other concern regarding intimidation has been referred to the Office of Investigation, Field Of fice, Region V for action as appropriate.
Regarding your request for confidentiality, let me assure you that we will make every attempt to handle this matter in such a way as to maintain your anonymity. In this respect, I would like to point out that licensees sometimes correctly guess the identity of the individu1 providing information to us.
In such cases, our policy is to neither confira nor deny the accuracy of their guess.
In closing, we appreciate your bringing your concerns to our attention.
