Dear Dr. Grace:
We are enclosing a summary of our progress and efforts to address the findings from the June 3-7, 1985 Appendix R Audit as transmitted in your Report No.
50-395/85-26. The summary is presented in the fann of two tables, an audit Open Items Status table as enclosure #1 and an updated Schedule of Modification Implementation table (Rev. I to table 14 enclosed in September 4,1985 letter) as enclosure #2. These tables provide a cross reference for the audit report, our submittals to NRR, on-going modification work, due dates and the current sta tu s.
Please note that Rev. I to Table 14.0 from our Sept. 4',1985 letter to Harold R.
Denton contains a date slippage. The seventh line entry titled " Upgrade Chiller B Control Transfer Switch" had an original estimated completion date of 3/1/86.
This date is now estimated to be 3rd Refueling (2nd Qtr.1987).
The engineering work for this modification is near completion and all materials are on site but the complexity and the difficulty of installing the modification while online has caused us to extend completion of the modification. The delay in implementation has a negligible impact on risk to the public since the compensating actions of a functionally equivalent jumper procedure and a special roving fire watch will remain in effect until the modification is complete.
