SALEM BILL OF MATERIAL (BOM) VALIDATION STATUS l
Date:
March 2, 1995 At the request of Mr. Stan LaBruna, vice-president Nuclear Engineering & Support, I am forwarding a copy of our final report of the Engineering Assessment of Salem BOM validation of PC 4 class codes used on Q BOM's that was completed in November of 1994.
This assessment report contains actions and recommendations to address issues relating to the accuracy and confidence level of the BOM's.
We have implemented many of the remedial actions identified in section 6.0 of the report and initiated a short term project to have the remaining NSR class codes associated with safety related component BOM's reviewed.
The scope of this project is identified in section 6.3 of the report.
This project is expected to begin in March and be competed by June 30, 1995.
Upon completion of this project all PC 4 class codes would have been reviewed that are associated with safety related components, i
The Manger-QA Engineering & Procurement has the responsibility for providing oversight of the actions contained in the report to ensure action plans are developed and implemented.
Additionally, we have completed two BOM self assessment activities which included representation from the Salem and Hope Creek Planning organizations.
The first phase of the assessment resulted in BOM user guidelines being developed and incorporated into our implementing procedures along with initial user training l
being conducted.
The second phase of the assessment concluded j
that the overall condition of the MMIS Resource Data Module is i
satisfactory, the MDF process is adequate for ongoing maintenance i
of the MMIS Resource Data Module and that interface meetings with the stations (users) should be held on a regular basis to enhance communication regarding MMIS Resource Data Module issues The gnverisin yuur han&.
