Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-334, License No. DPR-66 Generic Letter 83-28, Item 4.3 seismic Qualification of Shunt Trip components Gentlemen:
By letter dated July 16, 1984, we provided a response to Generic Letter 83-28, Item 4.3 in which we committed that the shunt trip l
cttachment and automatic shunt trip panel would be seismically qualified.
Supplemental information on our actions was provided in letters dated January 14, 1985, May 10, 1985 and September 3, 1985 in response to your Safety Evaluation (SE) dated November 8, 1984.
Westinghouse has performed generic qualification tests for the Wes-inghouse owner's Group (WOG) and the results of these tests were issued by the WOG in February 1985.
Also, at our request, the WOG prcvided additional information on the qualification methodology and the in-equipment seismic levels at the mounting locations in
- November, 1985.
We have reviewed these reports and concluded that the shunt trip attachment and automatic shunt trip panel are ceismically qualified for use at Beaver Valley Power Station Unit 1.
If there are any questions, please contact my office.
very truly yours, T.
