Dear Mr. McCaffrey:
This is in response to your letter dated July 17, 1985, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), copies of 24 specified documents and related information pertaining to the transportation of spent nuclear reactor fuel.
The enclosed Appendix A identifies documents which are being placed in the NRC's Public Document Room (PDR),1717 H Street, NW, Washington, DC 20555, where they will be available for your inspection at no charge or reproduction at a nominal charge of five ($0.05) per page, as specified in 10 CFR 9.14.
The documents will be filed in PDR folder F01A-85-513 under your name. The enclosed Appendix B identifies documents which the NRC has already made publicly available at the PDR.
Enclosed is a notice that provides charges and procedures for obtaining records from the PDR.
Copies of the documents identified at numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 24 of your request may be purchased from the National Technical Infonnation Service, Department of Commerce, 5285 Port Royal Road, Springfield, VA 22161.

, For your infonnation, we are enclosing excerpts (pages 59, 60, 62, 63, and 64) of NRC's 1983 annual report which pertain to transportation of radioactive materials and spent fuel and a copy of the NRC's " Citizen's Guide to U.S.
Nuclea-Regulatory Comission Information." A voluminous amount of material on this subject is available for public inspection and copying at the PDR.
You may wish to consider visiting the PDR,and submitting another F0IA request for specific records if you have further interest in the subject.
