REQUEST FOR EXEMPTIONS TO THE N+1 POLICY l
This responds to your memorandum dated February 1, 1995, in which you requested exemptions to the N+1 policy for St. Lucie and Turkey Point.
I have carefully reviewed your request and the supporting information and have arrived at the following decisions:
1.
St. Lucie - The exemption to the H+1 policy is approved based on superior performance.
2.
Turkey Point - The exemption to the N+1 policy is approved based on superior performance.
The exemptions described herein are effective for a period of 2 years. During this period, you should closely monitor the performance of the facilities where staffing is less than N+1.
If there is a noticeable decline in performance at the facility, the exemption to N+1 will be readdressea, cc:
