SUBJECT:

Emergency Electrical Power System Independence

REFERENCE:

(1) PSC Letter Dated September 13, 1985, Warembourg to NRC (P-85313)

Dear Mr. Butcher:

In the referenced letter dated September 13, 1985 to you, we concurred with the results of an analysis conducted by Proto-Power Corporation. When we designed the changes conmitted to in this letter, we discovered.that on item 2 (286G1A and 286G1B), we had selected normally closed contacts (7-7C). This is inconsistent with the normally open (11-11C) contacts in the present design. Physical separation is the goal and no functional change is desired.

We wish to amend the correction portion of Item 2 in the attached letter to read as follows:

Correction: Rewire CONTACT 11-11C to contact 13-13C to provide separation and alleviate the consequences of concurrent physical damage.

Should you have any questions concerning this, please call Mr. M. H. Holmes at (303) 571-8409.
