Scope /
Purpose:
The scope of this work will be limited to addressing immediate NRC/NRR licensing concerns using the state-of-the-art codes and the analyses and experimental data. developed from NRC/RES and other R&D programs.
The analyses provided under this contract 'will form the basis for the li-censing decisions required on the GESSAR-II FDA review (PRA portion),
Limerick-OL review (PRA portion), and Floating Nuclear Plant-ML follow-up PRA review (as'per the NTCP/ML rule) with respect to severe accident consideration.
2.
Work Performed During Period:
Work continues on a letter report describing our review of the GESSAR-II
-PRA.
The BWR Mark II (Limerick) standard problem (TQUV and TQUX) calculations were refined and presented to the Containment Loads Working Group.
- BNL staff continue to gain experience using the MARCH 2, NAUA, MERGE, CORSOR, and TRAP-MELT computer codes.
The VANESA code has not yet been received at BNL.
A meeting was held at BNL with the NRC project manager to discuss our work with the above system of codes and plan for the up-coming visit to BCL.

It'is important that we receive the VANESA code in the near future in order to meet the 'GESSAR and Limerick milestones.
