TMI-2 LESSONS LEARNED CATEGORY "A" ITEMS I l

t The Consnission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 54 to Provisional -

Operating License No. DPR-16 for the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station. This amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifi-cations in response to your application dated September 23, 1980.

The amendment approves changes to the Technical Specifications to incorporate certain TMI-2 Lessons Learned Category "A" requirements.  ;

These requirements concern (1) Emergency Power Supply / Inadequate Core ,

Cooling, (2) Valve Position Indication, (3) Containment Isolation. l (4) Shift Technical Advisor, (5) Integrity of Systems Outside Contain- t ment, and (6) Iodine Monitoring. j During our review of your application we found it necessary to modify  !

four proposed Technical Specifications. We have discussed the changes  ;

with your representatives and have mutually agreed upon them.  ;

l Copies of our related Safety Evaluation and the Notice of Issuance  ;

are also enclosed.
