During the period from January 1,1992 through June 30,1992,1/2 EMF-33 were inoperable for an indetenninate period of time. On hiay 1,1992, Operations found that the loop seals on 2 EMF 33 (Condensate Steam Air Ejector Off Gas hionitor) were improperly aligned.

The inlet valve to the sightglass was opened and allowed air to be drawn into the suction line which diluted the CSAB s:unple flow, Operations closed the drain valves and 2 EMF-33 immediately went from approximately 170 cpm to appmximately 350 cpm (the corresponding IEMF-33 only changed approximately 20 epm when its drain valves wer, closed). The realignment came as a result of a Perfonnance PT being perft.nned and CSAE was exhausting through the Unit Vent versus the VA Exhaust Fans. All air sample results processed by it : Radiation Protection Shift Compliance group during this time period did not result in any activity concentrations greater than 3.39E-06 uCi/ml.

Problem Investigation Report 0-C92-0367 was initiated by Operationc on hiay 4,1992.

During the time period, routine daily and/or weekly Unit Vent sampling took place. No gaseous activity above natural background was identified for these samples, nor were any radiosotopes other than K-40 and other "aturals identified in the particulate and charcoal I

samples.
