. Page 3 of 3 gg 3/4.6 CONTAINMENT SYSTEMS BASES 3/4.6.1 PRIMARY CONTAINMENT 3/4.6.1.1 CONTAINMENT INTEGRITY .
Primary CMTAINMENT INTEGRITY ensures that the release of radioactive materials froc the containmer,t atmosphere will bc restricted to those leakage paths and associated leak rates assumed in the safety snalyses. This restric-tion, in conjunctivn with the leakage rate limitation, will limit the EXCLUSION AREA BOUNDARY radiation doces to within the dose guideline values of 10 CFR 100 during accident conditions.
3/4.6.1.2 CONTAINMENT LEAKAGE The limitations on containment leakege rates ensure thac the tor,al containment leakage volume will not exceed the value assumed in the safety analyses at the peak accident pressure, P . As an added conservatism, the 3
measured overall integrated leakage rate is further limited to less than or equal to 0.75 L, Q 7p L , 1a m p Hea @ eduring perfonrance cf the periodic
, : test to account for possible degradation of the containment leakage barriers between leakage tests.
For specific system configurations, credit may be taken for a 30-day water seal that will be maintained to prevent containment atmosphere leakage through the penetrations to the environment. The following is a list of the containment isolation valves that meet this systen configuration and the Maximum Allowed Leakage Rate (MALR) required to maintain the water seal for 30 days.

-3/4.6.1.3 CONTAINMENT AIR LOCKS
! The limitations on closure and leak rate for the containment air locks-l are required to meet the restrictions on CONTAINMENT INTEGRITY and containment l leak rate. Surveillance testing ef the air lock seals provides assurance that the overall air lock leakage will not become excessive due to seal damage during the intervals between air lock 'aakage tests.
