McGuire Nuclear Station UFSAR Chapter 17 (13 OCT 2018) 17.1 - 1 17.1 Duke Energy Carolinas Quality Assurance Program The description of the Quality Assurance Program is contained in the Duke Energy Corporation Topical Report Quality Assurance Program Description Operating Fleet, DUKE-QAPD-001-A.

That Topical Report follows the format and content guidance of NUREG-0800, Section 17.3, except it is based on ANSI N18.7-1976 in lieu of ANSI/ASME NQA-1 and NQA-2.

Topical Report DUKE-QAPD-001-A is incorporated by reference into the UFSAR.

17.1.1 Application of the Quality Assurance Program for Systems, Structures, and Components The Duke Energy Carolinas quality assurance program is applied to the structures, systems, and components identified as QA required in Table 3-1, Table 3-4, and Table 3-7. QA Condition 1 covers those systems and their attendant components, items, and services which have been determined to be nuclear safety related. The Topical Report applies in its entirety to systems, components, items, and services identified as QA condition 1.
