National Materials Program Pilot Project Chairs Teleconference Meeting April 20, 2004 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM Notes from Meeting Start Time: 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time Attendees: Lance Rakovan, Shawn Smith, Ruth McBurney, Jan Endahl, Michael Markley, Robert Gallaghar

1. General Discussion Pilot Chairs discussed the March 31, 2004 National Materials Program Stakeholders Meeting and how the results of the meeting would impact the pilot projects. Specifically, how various licensees and licensee organizations could be involved.
2. Progress Report of Each Pilot Project

-Pilot #1 The WG is working on establishing a steering committee, adding additional language to the report, and choosing the two priorities that will be run through the process.

-Pilot #2 The WGs draft report has been issued. Pilot 2 awaits further direction on additional work.

-Pilot #3 The WG is presently writing their report, attempting to take into account input from the March 31, 2004 Stakeholders meeting.

-Pilot #4 The Pilot Chair is getting input from WG members and drafting their report. He hopes to have a completed report by the first week of May.

-Pilot #5 Pilot 5 is developing an All Agreement States Letter to query the States about implementation of the revised IMC 2800 and 12 associated routine inspection procedures.

NMSS is also interested in providing implementation training via a work shop at the OAS annual meeting in September 2004.

3. Milestones and Schedule

- Updating Revised dates were requested from the Chairs of Pilots 1, 3, and 4.

- Documenting staff time Staff time estimates are next due up to the first week of June.

4. Additional Topics, as necessary A poster session on the NMP pilot projects will be given at the annual CRCPD meeting.

This will reduce the travel burden on Pilot Project chairs as not all will be required to attend the meeting.
