NO. 11 AND 12 CONTAINMENT SPRAY PUMPS NO. 13 COMPONEUT. COOLING PUMP SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION DOCKETS NO. 50-272 AND 50-311
.As requested in your letter of March 7,.1973, we are pleased to offer the results of Goulds Pumps, Inc. service department inspection report on the subject pumps.
The following is a summary of the results of the inspections performed and the corrective actions which have been taken.
During the time period lfrom February 6 through February 14, 1973,- inspections of.the No. 11 and 12 Containment Spray Pumps vere performed by the pump manufacturer, Goulds-Pumps, Inc., factory J
repre sentative assisted ~ by ' United Engineers 8: Constructors Inc. under the. direction of.the Westinghouse Salem Site Representative.
As a. result of these inspection activities, it was found that all'the subject pump. clearances were i
acceptable and the pump internals rotate freely with no indication of seizing.
These -inspections-also~ disclosed that the No. 12 pump shaft was: experiencing a run-out of 0.020".
,The No. 11 Containment? Spray Pump shaft was found to check out se.tisfactorily.
'As a result.of.theseJfindings, the shaft and' impeller assembly. of the ~ No.112 Containment Spray Pump were-returned to the manufacturer, Goulds-Pumps, Inc.'
