Drifting to the pier snart began but is presently on hold wnile an FCF written against a Hilti embedment that was not installed to its full length is resolved.
i Excavation for pier Ec-9 has progressed to el. $B6.
Excavation has progressed to el. 596 for piers CT-1 and CT-12.
Lagging in these piers has moved downward. approximately 1/2 to 3/4 in.
Snis movement is attributec to rigidity of the grouted soil which prevents friction from developing between the soil and lagging.
To alleviate this. 16 in. long spilings have been driven into the soil beneath every fourth lagging.
Excavation of the access pit to pier W-16 is near completior..
Drifting to pier Kc-4 has ceased until an NCP written against double washers installed with the Hilti bolts for one of the drift sets ic resolved.

An MPCAD audit findin6 stated that in addition to renolving deficiencies with the certification of compliance, proper documentation qaz not been provided to encure tnat politiet governint quality control of standard manuf actured (bulk) items such ac Welderete are met.
Until thic audit finding hat been resolved, the use of Walderete has been discontinued.

Item 7L Kc-2 to Ec-3 Drift Invert Concrete, l
The causee for the delay of concrete placement of the Mc-2 to Ec-3 drift invert i
on 2/10/84 were discussed.
A misunderstanding between MPCAD and FSO on requirements for rebar placement reaultec in the cancellation of concrete placement at the drift invert.
There was general aEreement in todays meeting that amore coordinated effort is needed on the part of TSO and MPOAD to prevent the same type of delays from occurring for future concrete placement activities.
The Assentment Team will monitor future concrete placement activities to observe the co-ordination process between MPOAD and FSO.
