Your letter of July 17, 1973 has been distributed to the mechers of the Advisory Ccanittee on Reactor Safeg,uards for their consideration ta the review of the Arkansas helaar Or.a Unit 1 plant.
The safety of nearby bcu>es and the related plant design features, equip-ment and procedures to be amployed by the applicant are suitters which will be considered by the Counit tee.
It is anticipate.d that the report of the ACRS on this project will be available by mid-August and copies can be obtained f rom the AEC Public Docur.ent Roors,1717 E 8treet, F.W.,
Vaehington, D. C. 20545. Copies will also be available in the local Pubite Document Room located at the Arkansas River Valley Regional Library, Dardanelle, Arkansas 72834, Attat Mr. R. Keathley, Librarian.
You should also note that the Ccmaittee's meeting on Arkansas helaar One Unit I will be o; wen to tanibers of the public in accordance with the attached notice. A transcript of the meeting and meeting minutes will also be available as described in the attached notice. There is con-siderable infnrmation regardtr.g this matter in the Safety Analysis Report submitted b,.he applicant and available in AEC Public Docuncat Roces.

It is also ay understariding that the applicant (Arkansas Power 6 Light Cmpany) is planning a public meeting this f all to discuss emargancy proceduras to be us6d in the unlikely event of en accident at the plant.
