In ad-dition, numerous in-pool irradiations were performed for the same purposes. The following are the major areas of support contribution by Radioisotope Applications:

Service to Medical and Biological Research:

- 105 shipments of K-42 and Na-24 were supplied to the Physiology Department at UMHSC for hypertension research.

- K-42 calibrated sources were supplied to the Dairy Science Department at UMC for calibration of the UMC Whole Body Counter. Additional calibrated samples were provided to measure the deadtime characteristics of the Whole Body Counter.

- An active, intercampus, University-funded project was begun to develop a new means of internal radiation therapy for liver cancer using P-32 labeled microspheres.

- Three shipments of Rb-86 were provided to the Physiology Department at UNHSC for hypertension research.

- Te-123a was provided to the U. of Oklahoma for synthesis of new radiopharmaceuticals.

- A new Cd-109/Ag-109m generator system was invented at MURR for possible use in assessing heart function in humans.

- Cd-109 was supplied to researchers at UMKC for study of the in vivo behavior of this radionuclide in the lungs.

- Sn-113 for use in a model generator for gastric emptying stu3Tes was supplied to the U. of Texas, Houston.

- Numerous Co-60, Cu-64,'Zn-65, and Co-58 sources were made and frequently modified fue use as X-ray sources in the Physics Department at UMC.

- 12 radioactive Ba5 and Ba0 crystal vindows were encapsulated for irradiation for the Physics Department at UMC.

- A Ce-141 calibrated source was produced for the Physics Department at UMKC.

- Two high intensity Sn-119m Mossbauer sources were prepared for the Physics Department at Purdue University.

- Sources of Te-129m, Hf-181, Pd-llt and Ag-lll were provided to the U. of Cincinnati for Mossbauer studies.

Stryice to Education:

-Na-24, In-ll5m, and M1-56 sources were prepared for educational use by UMC Health Physics.

- Sources of Cu-64, Ca-45, Y-90, P-32, K-42, Cr-51. Sc-46, Sr-85, and Ce-141 were produced for educational use by the Chemistry Department at UMC.

- A Na-24 source was provided to aid the research project of a nitclear engineering student at MURR.

In-House Service to MURR:

- Na-24 and 00-60 sources were provided to MURR Health Physics for instrument calibration and research and to the elec-tronics shop for instrument analysis purposes.

- K-42 sources were provided to MURR Reactor Chemistry for calibration of the stack monitors.
