SUBJECT:

01 INVESTIGATIONS' IMPACTING RESTART R

h I want this to be just a ' heads up' note regarding the two Rancho Seco investigations we feel may impact Rancho Seco restart.

Investigation 5-86-010 appears to be o.k. in that I understand the report for this investigation is in draft and should be completed within the next few weeks.

The investigation of concern is 5-86-011 dealing with falsification of cable pull cards. Your July 31 status report indicates for this investigation there are no resources available. Based upon this concern, since you were gone, I tried to get in touch with Fortuna; since he was gone I in turn talked to Ben Hayes.

Ben asked me to ask you to put priority on this case and to ask you to have it completed at least 30 days prior to the currently reheduled Commission meeting in December.

If you have any questions on this, please give me a call.

I will be back from vacation on August 24.
