SUMMARY
OF MONTHLY OPERATING EXPERIENCE - APRIL, 1982 April 1 Station is in Refueling Mode 6 for major modifications and through 2nd refueling outage.
The Reactor Coolant System Tavg and April 4 pressure are at ambient conditions.
At 1446 on the 1st, the first fuel assembly was removed from the Reactor Vessel and at 1513 on the 4th all fuel was transferred from the Reactor Cavity to the Spent Fuel Pit.
April 5 The first fuel assembly was placed in the core at 1800 through hours on the 5th, and at 1450 hours0.0168 days <br />0.403 hours <br />0.0024 weeks <br />5.51725e-4 months <br /> on the 12th the core April 12 was completely loaded.
April 13 The Upper Internals package was removed from the Reactor Cavity Pit Stand and at 0950 it was lowered into the Reactor Vessel.
April 14 On the 14th at 1428 hours0.0165 days <br />0.397 hours <br />0.00236 weeks <br />5.43354e-4 months <br /> the Reactor Vessel Head was l
through removed from the Head Support Stand and place _d back en April 17 the Reactor Vessel. At 2030 hours0.0235 days <br />0.564 hours <br />0.00336 weeks <br />7.72415e-4 months <br /> on the 17th Maintenance completed tensioning the Reactor Vessel Head Studs and the Station entered into Cold Shutdown Mode 5.
April 18 Station in Cold Shutdown Mode 5 with the Reactor Coolant through System pressure and Tavg at ambient conditions.

DUQUESNE LIGHT COMPANY Beaver Valley Power Station MAJOR SAFErY-RELATED MAINTENANCE - APRIL,1982 1.
The Pressurizer Power Operated Relief Block Valves [MOV-RC-535, 536 and 537] were inspected and the seats found cracked on two (2) of the valves.
It is planned to replace the valves.
2.
The Pressurizer Power Operated Relief Valves [PCV-RC-455C, 455D and 456] actuator springs are being replaced because necessary preloading can no longer be achieved.
3.
Modification work on Steam Generators [RC-E-1A, 1B and 1C]
blowdown lines, to provide automatic isolation in case of line rupture, has been completed.
4.
Modification work on Reactor Coolant Pump [RC-P-1C), for oil spill protection, has been completed.
5.
Work on 3-inch and 6-inch Velan check valves, to change dises, is in progress.
Nine (9) out of ten (10) 3-inch valves and ten (10) out of fourteen (14) 6-inch valves have had discs changed.
The remainder are to be changed by the end of the outage.
6.
Modification work to install a second Personnel Airlock on the Equipment Hatch is in progress.
7.
Motor bearings on Component Cooling Pump [CCR-P-lC) were sent out to be remachined.
8.
Overhaul work on Main Feedwater Pumps [FW-P-1A and 1B] is in progress.
9.
Modifications to the Emetgency Diesel Generator [EE-EG-2] turbo charger and the lube oil system are in progress.
NOTE:
Other modifications, required by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, are performed or in progress during April, 1982.
