TRAINING AND QUALIFICATION OF NUCLEAR POWER PLANT PERSONNEL A proposed rule on the above subject was published in the Federal Reoister on January 7, 1992.

A copy is enclosed for your information. The public comment period will expire on March 9,1992.

The RES task leader for this project, Morton Fleishman, has been assigned to Commissioner Roger's staff for a 3-month assignment effective February 14, 1992, and thus, will not be able to move this rule forward. This memorandum is to request that you assign a person knowledgeable in this area to RES to evaluate the public comments on the proposed rule and to develop the final rule to the extent possible during Mr. Fleishman's absence.

As you may be aware, Rajender Auluck, from NRR, has accepted a 3-month rotational assignment to RES to fill in Mr. Fleishman's section leader capacity. As such, he will be available to assist in this task as well as the other section tasks.
