Catawba Nuclear Station Docket Nos. 50-413 and 50-414 Proposed Technical Specification Technical Specification 4.7.6 9
Centlement My December 21, 1987 letter to the NRC transmitted a proposed Technical Specification (TS) Amendment to Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-35 and NPF-32 for Catawba Units 1 and 2 respectively. The proposed change to 4.7.6.d. Control Room Area Ventilation Surveillance Requirements, extended the carbon adsorber sampling frequency from 720 hours0.00833 days
0.2 hours
0.00119 weeks
2.7396e-4 months
to 1440 hours0.0167 days
0.4 hours
0.00238 weeks
5.4792e-4 months
. My i
letter dated July 14, 1989 updated the submittal by making additional c'>nges te Technical Specificationo 3.7.6.a. 4.7.6.c 4.7.6.d. 4.7.6.f. and 4.f.i.g seeking administrative clarifications and more conservative bypass Icakage and methyl iodide penetration acceptance critoria. This proposed TS amendment was further supplemented by my April 19, 1990 letter which made changes to TS 4.7.6.c.2 and 4.7.6.d regarding the laboratory test method referenced in these Specifications.
Based on discussions with the NRC staff. Duke Power is withdrawing the supplement which was submitted on April 19, 1990 regarding the laboratory testing method. My December 21, 1987 and July 14, 1989 letters, referenced above, remain valid.
Tais letter also supplements my previous submittals by changing the T3 Bases 3/4.7.6 to more accurately reflect the design bases of the Control Room Area Ventilation System.
Attached is a copy of the marked up TS Bases 3/4.7.6.
