Dear Mr. Crane:
By letter dated October 28, 1981 you requested an exemption under 10 CFR 20.501 from the " calendar quarter" definition provided in 10 CFR 20.3(a)(4) as it applies to your radiation exposure assessment program for the Humboldt Bay Power Plant, Unit No. 3.
The exemption is for the purpose of permitting you to shorten the final 1981 calendar quarter so that you can comence the first quarter of the 1982 calendar year on January 1,1982(ratherthanJanuary 15, 1982 as would otherwise be the case).
The exemption you requested is hereby granted. This change is purely adminis',rative and has no safety impact.
Copies of the Safety Evaluation and Notice of Issuance are enclosed.
