INSPECTION OF NUCLEAR POWER PLANT COMPONENTS In response to your requ'est (Memo from W. F. Anderson to B. H. Grier, 13, 1977), the Engineering D. Eisenhut, and J. P. Knight, dated April Branch, Division of Operati.ng Reactors, has reviewed the proposed position to Sections of Section XI, Winter 1975 Addenda and finds that it will be acceptable if the NRC would also not endorra the steam The generator tube inspection requirements specified in the Code.

bases of this recommendation are that:

The additional examinations requirements specified in the code 1.

are less stringent than those.of Regulatory Guide 1.83. Rev.1 and also those of technical specifications.

Regulatory Guide 1.83, Rev. I will be revised shortlyi The code 2.

adoption of S.G. tube inspection requirements should wait until the revision to the Reg. Guide is complete.

Premature endorsement of the code S.G. tube ISI requirements will 3.
