SUBJECT:
FINAL GA0 REPORT ENTITLED " PROPOSED INTERIM CONSOLIDATION OF THE NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION" In accordance with our August 25, 1975, memorandum concerning coordination of GAO activities within NRC, an advance copy of the subject report is being forwarded for your information.
The report was issued to the House and Senate Appropriations Committees on September 11, 1980, and is now being reproduced to enable GA0 to make public distribution.
GA0 provided 01A with limited advance copies and has assured us that additional copies will be available by September 15, 1980.
OIA will make further distribution of the report when these copies are received.
It should be noted that because this report does not have any recommenda-tions directed to NRC, HRC is not required to respond to the Congressional committees.
Should you have any views or comments, we will be happy to pass them on to GAO,
