DOCKET NOS. 50-266 AND 50-301 MODIFICATION TO CHANGE REQUEST NO. 55 NON-RADIOLOGICAL TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANTr UNITS 1 AND 2 By letter dated September 21, 1978, Wisconsin Electric Power Company filed with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission a license amendment application for the Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2.
The amendment application requested revisions to the Non-Radiological Technical Specifications to delete certain monitoring requirements based on the finding of no significant environmental effects due to operation of the plant.
This finding was based on the results of the extensive five-year environmental monitoring program conducted at the Point Beach Nuclear Plant site.
On November 4, 1977, the Commission had authorized a temporary suspension of this program pending review of a five-year summary report.
This summary report was submitted on July 3, 1978.

the more than three years since this license amendment applicatian was filed, the NRC has taken no action on the Technical Specifi-cation changes requested.
Subsequent to this license amendment requeet, the State of Wisconsin issued on September 28, 1979, Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (WPDES) Permit No. WI-0000957 for the Point Beach Nuclear Plant site.
This permit was modified in accordance with the request of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and revised and reissued on September 30, 1980.
A complete copy of the current permit is enclosed.
