REPORT DAT I ~ 50 EVENT DESCRIPTION AND PROBABLE CONSEQUENCES 10 l111l lOn 1/6/83 while in Mode 1 at 100% full power, control room emeroency air conditioner 2VE-1B failed its l l_T__ill (surveillance test because the compressor was cycling excessively. Redundant air conditioner 2VE-1A was t l1111 lavailab;e and operable. 2VE-1B was returned to operable status within the time requirements of Technical l l_Till ISpecification 3.7.6.1. This occurrence is reportable per Technical Specification 6.9.1.9.b. It could l 1111l jnot be determined which relief valve was leaking because of the design of the discharge piping. A modificationt l1111 ito facilitate relief valve leakage identification is being considered. Spare relief valves were not available.1 11l11 IThe air conditioning unit '2VE-18) was recharged, tested and returned to service. The leaking relief valve l 11l_Tl8 7 9 lwill be replaced when spare valves are received.
