HRC BULLETIN 88-04 POTENTIAL SAFETY-RELATED PUMP LOSS MCGUIRE NUCLEAR STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 (TACs 69934/69935)
By letters dated July 11, August 31. December 1,1988; April 21, June 30, December 5, 1989; and January 15, 1990, you responded to NRC Bulletin 88-04,
" Potential Safety-Related Pump loss," for McGuire Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2.
Your response of January 15, 1990, confirned that all long-term actions associated with the issues in the bulletin, including a modification to change the miniflow line for the residual heat removal pumps, will have been completed during the outage for the end of fuel cycle 8 for both units. We understand that your present schedule for completion of the end-of-cycle 8 outages is January 1993 (Unit 1) and July 1993 (Unit 2).
In accordance with the bulletin, a written response describing the action taken is to be submitted to the NRC within 30 days of completion of the long-term actions. You also confirm that an evaluation of your actions in response to this bulletin will be documented and maintained at the station for a minimum of two years.
Accordingly, your responses have addressed the issues in the bulletin, and we are closing the subject TACs. Further NRC review, if any, will be by future auditing.
