SAFETY AND PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (SPIP) IMPLEMENTATION AUDIT AT OCONEE, L' NITS 1, 2 AND 3 (TAC NOS. 68202, 68203, 68204)
REFERENCE:
Letter from Dennis M. Crutchfield, NRC, to Walter S. Wilgus, BWOG, dated May 4,1988, " Status of the evaluations of previous NRc requirements, recomnendations and concerns applicable to B&W designed plants."
As you are aware, the NRC staff has determined that a series of audits is necessary to verify the proper implementation of the Babcock & Wilcox Owners Group (BWOG) safety and performance improvement program (SPIP) recomendations at each B&W designed facility. This audit series consists of a SPIP programatic audit (which has been completed)f necessary.ommendation a SPIP rec implementation audit, and a followup audit, i The implementation audit for the Oconee Nuclear Station is planned for the week of February 12, 1990.
In conjunction with this audit, the audit team will also evaluate your disposition of previous NRC issues applicable to B&W designed plants (See Reference.)
It is anticipated that the audit will comence with an entrance meeting at 8:00 a.m. on February 12 and conclude with an exit meeting on February 16, 1990. We plan to conduct the audit at the Oconee site in Seneca, S.C.
