FORT ST. VRAIN NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY OF COLORADO 16805 WELD COUNTY ROAD 191/7 PLATTEVILLE, COLORADO 80651 REPORT NO. 50-267/81-002/03-L-0 Final IDENTIFICATION OF OCCURRENCE:

On January 7,1981, it was determined that the sampling requirements of SR NR 1.1, chemical concentrations, had not been met for December 25, 1980.

This is being reported per Fort St. Vrain Technical Specification AC 7.5.2(b)2.

i EVENT

DESCRIPTION

Technical Specification SR NR 1.1 specifies required frequencies for sa=pling and analysis of non-radioactive liquid ef fluents to assure that the limits specified by LCO NR 1.1 are not exceeced. Per SR NR 1.1, the sampling fre-quency for pH and total dissolved solids is to be once per shif t.

Due to plant operation requirements, the operator did no: take the required sample on day shift, December 25, 1980.

LCO NR 1.1 specifies a maximum allowable total dissolved solids concentration of 2300 ppm, and an allowable range of pH values from 6.0 to 9.0.

A check of the analysis for these sacples taken prior to and following the missed sample indicates that the values for pH and total dissolved solids were well within the limits of LCO NR 1.1.

There is no indication that any Technical Specification limits were exceeded during the period covered by the missed s ample.

I Sampling was resumed at the required frequency on the next shif t.

I

CAUSE

DESCRIPTION

Plant operational requirements preempted the time normally required for sacple and analysis.

CO RRECTIVE ACTION:

The sampling was resumed the following shif t and has continued.

u Personnel have been reminded of the importance of obtaining samples and per-forming analyses at the required intervals.

I No further corrective action is anticipated or required.
